Reduce animal harm
70 billion animals are farmed annually. Roughly 2/3 are farmed industrially with minimal space requirements. Of the 1.2 trillion eggs we eat per year, a large part comes from chickens, that are held under excruciating circumstances.
Promote human well being
Massproduction of anmial based proteins hold remarkable risks for human health by providing a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. Spreading pandemics originating from farms, such as H5N1 or the swine flu are direct results of this.
Protect the environment
Animal agriculture (meat, egg, milk) creates more greenhouse gas emissions than all airplanes, ships and cars together. It is also one of the leading causes of deforestation, biodiversity loss, and water pollution.
